6/26~28_Mr. Sato made a presentation at DICOMO2024
M1 student Ms. Sato gave a presentation at DICOMO2024 held in Hanamaki, Iwate Prefecture from June 26 to 28. DICOMO is a major academic conference in the field of information technology in Japan, organized by Information Processing Society of Japan.
In addition to the usual academic presentations, Ms. Sato also presented at the “Night Technical Session,” which was held in the evening in an informal and casual atmosphere!
~Mr Sato's comments~
I am Sato, an M1 student who presented at DICOMO 2024.
This conference was a camp, so I shared sightseeing and meals with my classmates, and we became really good friends through talking about our research and universities.
For the night technical session, with the help of lab members and professors, we were able to produce videos and correct our presentations until the very last minute the day before departure. Other presenters had outsourced their work to a video production company and spent more than half a year to produce their presentations, which were of a very high level, but my presentation was also accepted to a certain extent.
In my research presentation, I received more questions than expected and had discussions with the audience after my presentation. I was impressed that they remembered my presentation from the night technical session the day before and said, “You must be the girl who worked hard in the night technical session yesterday.” I was impressed by what he said to me.
The most shocking thing was that the author of the paper I presented was in the audience at the time of my presentation, and he gave me very useful advice.
I will use this experience in conducting my master's research!
